Our main objective is to raise funds and contribute in other ways to the upkeep of St Laurence and its churchyard.

Most of our activities are fund-raising and have included concerts, competitions and a unique sponsorship scheme whereby one can sponsor the upkeep of the church for a day. For full details of the scheme see the “Get Involved” page of this website.

Repairs to the weather vane, clock-faces and roof, paid for in part by funds raised by FOSL. March 2009

Bridget and Chloe Biddell bravely begin the climb to the top of the spire in 1999.

"We have hundreds of visitors coming to St Laurence each year - they often write how peaceful it is and how lovely in its setting.   Part of that setting is the magnificent scenery of the Surrey Hills, but part of it is also because it is set within a community that has cared for it over the centuries and is doing so now.    The Rector and congregation are so grateful to all the members of FOSL for taking the trouble to share in the care of this ecclesiastical gem."

Venerable Adrian Harbidge, Rector,of St. Laurence, December 2015

Major redecoration work under way in January 2017, which is being funded by two donations from FOSL.
